Very solid device. You'll want to use your own SD card with a new OS but it's easy.

Perfect

I wanted the RG353P just for GBA games but it does a lot more. The build quality is great, it has a great feeling in the hand and it lasts a long time without a charge.

Good, but software is not quite there yet.

Went from the RG351p to this, mainly to haven proper N64 emulation. I like the ergnomics and the screen a lot. On the software side I think a lot will be improved in the future. The stock firmware gives you iffy N64 emulation and 8- and 16 bit games don't run as smoothly as they do on the RG351 somehow. The frame rate just seems a little uneven. Same goes for JELOS. The Android side gives you better N64 emulation and smooth 8- and 16 bit gameplay, but it all feels a bit slapped together. Hoping for good custom firmware in the future!

Perfect fit, but a bit snug for wires and the ANBERNIC label is on the bottom...

It does the job and works fine, to hold and protect the RG353P, but there are tiny things. I wouldn't recommend putting anything, except a screen wipe in the top, as the case is very right and you will put pressure on the device, and the ANBERNIC branding, is on the bottom of the case, which is just a shame.

What a brilliant device.

I would highly recommend the RG353p to anyone in the market for brilliant entry point hand held emulator, i have tried other similar devices and none compare to this. It feels great to hold even for longer periods, all the buttons sit in the right place and have a nice click when pressed. The screen is of high quality with an excellent brightness range and the linux operating system is so simple to use with just enough settings options to further customise the devise but not so much it becomes overwhelming. The devise came packaged with a sd card which was great to get a feel for how everything runs with only some of the more demanding N64/Dreamcast games causing any drop in performance but for the price that was expected and from what i have read the android side would run them better but i haven't even ventured to that side yet as the drops where only slight and I've been enjoying the linux side to much. Top work Anbernic👍🏽.

Perfect fit

Perfectly got my RG353PS. Has just enough room for a charging cable but this keeps the size down that is a benefit to me. The zip seems robust which is good to see.

Nice sleek case - a little too sleek perhaps?

The case has a nice finish and feels decent quality. My RG353P fits in nicely and the elastic strap keeps it in place. Only slight gripe is the case is quite narrow so you can't store much more than the charger cable in there without putting some pressure on the device.

Perfect all round retro emulator.

I have the RG353M. A very nice, compact, premium quality aluminum shelled, version of this. I bought the RG353P as a present for a friend. ....And I like it more. Now wishing I'd bought this version instead. It's very comfortable in the hands, and lighter, with stacked shoulder buttons. It's so much more ergonomic, and I can play for so much longer with it. Despite being plastic, it doesn't feel cheap (other than the edges of the lower shoulder triggers), and I'm now contemplating getting one for myself - though I use the M a lot through HDMI and Bluetooth controllers. But this P version also does that. The screen is also a great size - clear, and big enough, while keeping the overall size fairly compact. There are newer and more powerful consoles, and with bigger screens. But I'd say this is a perfect size and form factor for a handheld retro console.

Great form factor

Really enjoy this device, far more sturdy than my RG35XX. Stock firmware is good, having options of others to add ma hones is great. Form factor is really comfortable and small enough to take anywhere. Got case at same time, perfect fit for it.

The One

This might not be the best chipset out there, but this is exactly the console I have been waiting for - a SNES controller with a screen in the middle and analogue sticks! Plays everything I would hope for, feels amazing, looks perfect.

Great handheld

Great handheld straight out of a box. Would recommend to install ArkOs though for better experience. Loving it. Fits in my hands a lot better than vertical ones I used to get.

It takes some work, but exceptional device...

Great controls, beautiful screen, very compact, amazing battery life, very easy to use Linux stock-firmware and generally speaking, you could use this straight from the box, within seconds. But I'd recommend you at least replace the supplied memory cards, with better quality branded ones. And if you have the time, I would also recommend installing JELOS to replace the stock Linux firmware, and also update the Android to the Anbernic released version (although I never use the Android myself). I have encountered one small issue though. The Linux boot up, whether the stock firmware or JELOS do not boot up each time you turn it on. Sometimes it takes a "reset" to make it work. Not the worst issue ever, but a small bit frustrating. Unsure if hardware issue or firmware.

What an incredible machine for its size!!

I'm loving this Retro Gaming Handheld so much! I bought it knowing it could handle N64 and Dreamcast and it does not disappoint! I'm actually playing through some old Master System titles at the moment; properly reliving my youth. What an absolute blast! Very happy with my purchase. Can highly recommend this. Looks super cool in the clear black too!!

Excellent but freezes occasionally

This is an excellent handheld and is really good for my key system PSX. However I have been issues getting firmware that works well. JelOS did not support Bluetooth audio or rumble and turning WiFi on and off was erratic. ArkOS appears better but after getting Bluetooth audio working I have been getting more system freezes. I will try stock firmware next. Also I was not sent my colour choice.

Great device and great price!

Had an rg353m which has very similar hardware and base setup, for a while which I love but has some issues with it being very small it can be hard to play some games. Also the rubber pads have come unstuck which makes your hands sticky so need to remove them and the glue. This model doesn’t have any of these problems however. The larger width makes it easier to hold and play in your hands and love the retro NES controller aesthetic. No rubber grips to come unstuck. I imagined being plastic as opposed to metal, it might feel flimsy or fragile but instead it feels very sturdy and strong. Considering these points and the incredible price around £100 I paid in the sale it’s an absolute bargain, months of fun in the palm of your hands. Can’t recommend it any higher, you can make the purchase with great confidence. Only thing new users will struggle with is the setup of os and getting roms. To solve this I will be uploading my curated sd card images with my custom OS to git hub over the next few weeks for the community to enjoy.
